Library Cards
Getting a card, renewing materials, placing holds, etc.
Who Can Get a Card
Any resident of Clifton and surrounding Bosque County communities is eligible to receive a library card. Children must be of school age; however, adults may check out materials for pre-schoolers from our Children's collection.
How to Get Your Card
You must apply for your card at the library by completing a membership request form. The first card is free; replacement cards cost $3.00. If you are under the age of 18 you must have your application signed by a parent or guardian to signify approval for use of the Internet.
Borrowing Limits
Patrons may borrow any combination of five books, CDs, or DVDs for a period of two weeks.
Placing Holds
To reserve an item that is currently checked out, contact your librarian in person or by telephone, voicemail, or e-mail. Refer to the Location area on this page for contact information. Books that are on hold are assigned in the order in which the holds were received.
Renewing Your Borrowed Items
To renew an item, contact your librarian in person or by telephone, voicemail, or e-mail. Refer to the Location area on this page for contact information. If the item is overdue, the fine that was due at the time of the renewal will be assessed when the book is returned. To renew books online, visit our catalog, which is accessible from all pages on our website just above the calendar to the right of this window.
Library Fines
Fines are assessed on overdue items at the rate of $.20 per day per item, with one grace day. The maximum fine for overdue materials is $5.00 per item. Fines must be paid before checking out new items.
Lost Items
Patrons are required to pay the replacement cost of lost items.
