Director's Message

Welcome to the Nellie Pederson Civic Library in Clifton, Texas!  Our mission is to be the cornerstone of the community, providing information, resources, programs, and services that will educate, entertain, and enrich the lives of all generations. The library's vision is to incorporate yesterday’s wisdom with today’s knowledge to create tomorrow’s dreams.

We are continually working to expand services, programs and other resources to meet the needs of a growing community with a rich heritage.  I invite you to visit and explore the library, use the computers or use your computer with our free Wi-Fi, check out materials, participate in scheduled activities, or come by and get to know the library staff.  If you are interested in volunteering, we would love to hear from you.

Current programs and activities include the following.

  • Sponsoring Nellie Pederson Civic Library Scholarships.
  • Procuring large-print and audio books community seniors.
  • Enhancing our DVD collection.
  • Partnering with the Bosque County Genealogy Society to increase our genealogical library.
  • Having monthly story times for preschool children and Bosque County Home School group.
  • Conducting a summer reading program for area children.
  • Offering summer movie Mondays for children. 

My goal for the library is to add new reading materials, programs, and services. Finally, the highest goal is to expand the library’s offerings and current facility, along with fiscal resources to better serve the citizens of Clifton and Bosque County.
